What is Fine Jewelry?
Fine jewelry is made from precious metals such as gold (not gold-plated), platinum and silver. Each piece has an imprint such as 14k. This is the type of jewelry that can be worn 24/7, while sleeping, in the shower or while working out without the fear of it tarnishing. These pieces are often given for special occasions and passed down as heirlooms.
Fine jewelry rings can be re-sized and repaired by Alfonzo, our skilled jeweler.
How we began specializing in Native American jewelry art?
In 2008 my husband Alfonzo and I, were introduced to the art of the Native American Silversmiths from the American Southwest. Our passion for Native American Jewelry started at a discouraging time in our lives, when we were closing our previous stores. We were in our store in Hanover Park. Illinois, when a customer who lived in Streamwood Illinois, came in the store with a couple of fine, authentic, high quality Native American pieces that she needed to sell, to help her ailing mother. When she saw how much we loved those first pieces, she continued bringing us more pieces, that we bought from her. That began our incredible appreciation and curiosity about Native American Jewelry. We closed that store and began a new adventure traveling in search of Native American artists. Our collection and love for this art grew and grew, as we acquired more knowledge about this rich and vast culture.
We were and still are captivated by the beauty and intricate work of each piece. Throughout these past years Alfonzo, who already had been an artist in his own right, with vast knowledge and creativity in jewelry making, was so influenced by the Native American culture, that he has dedicated his time to studying this art and learning to create pieces of his own taste and design resulting in making his own fine, quality one of a kind jewelry.
What are Handmade and Handcrafted Jewelry?
As the name implies handmade pieces are jewelry created and crafted by hand utilizing hand tools rather than computer technology or mechanical equipment, each piece is meticulously and passionately. The time spent creating each piece makes these truly one-of-a-kind jewelry.
This God-given talent produces unique works, by some that are called Silversmiths, Artists or Jewelers in the jewelry World. Whatever name is chosen to describe the creators of these unique, handmade or handcrafted pieces, their work expresses their feelings and their personal taste.
